Montz Matsumoto & Voicestrings has started the CD ‘Missing Home’ Launch tour!!

We had 5 gigs at the Woodford Folk Festival (link) from the end of December to the new year. Being accepted to one of Australia’s premium Folk festivals was an honour. We were so lucky to be funded by Art Tasmania through their TAS Quick Response Grants to make this tour to Woodford. We had 4 gigs at ‘Cooper’s Folk Club’ and one at ‘Pineapple Rounge’, in each venue, we had such fun playing, and the audience was fantastic!! Our flautist Elisse Kleiner made an impressive comeback after several face surgeries, the audience was intrigued by her flute.

We will have 2 concerts in Tasmania, with the essential musicians involved in recording the album. These concerts are very special, North Carolinian Tassy Resident Ross Sermons on Bass, 2022 Folk Alliance Australia Instrumentalist of the Year Paddy Montgomery on Guitar and Bouzouki. These two are playing in every truck of the albums, they are the ones making the essential part of the sound, and gee they make me play better!! And Elisse Kleiner who recovered from surgeries and was able to play fantastic on Flute, and Cloudy Davey from Barossa Valley, South Australia will join us with her incredible voice. please don’t miss it if you have time.

‘CD finally arrived to wait awhile Montz Matsumoto. Congratulations on the artwork and the whole production. I appreciate the Banjo, not least of all your playing style, having heard you numerous times in Tamworth. Love all the different styles on the CD, it just flows and always had my feet tapping. Great choice of accompanying instruments and nice to hear you sing too. Thank you.’
